Baptisms

Deciding to have a child baptised or that you yourself wish to be baptised is a very important step. It is one that we want to help you to carefully consider, so that it is the right thing for you. Above all, we want to encourage all those who apply for a baptism to think about the promises that they will be making to God, before his Church, and how they will be putting them into practice in life.

Perhaps you might not have been to church for a while, or you might even be worried about coming to church! Please don’t worry. This can often be the first, exciting step on your journey with God, or  may simply be a chance to renew that relationship. The people who already come to church are no different to you: we are all imperfect human beings who search for meaning and truth and direction in the light of all that God has done for us. This is the journey that all those who are Christians begin in their baptism, and this is the same journey that you and/or your child may now be about to start.

Weddings

Weddings are an occasion of great thanks giving and we rejoice to be alongside couples at this time.  The law in Englad is complex and you will need to read through the accompanying forms carefully to be sure that you are eligable to get married at Saint John's.  Often the easies thing to do is to read through and then make an appointment to meet with the Vicar to discuss this after mass one Sunday.

Funerals

As people of the resurrection we proclaim the Christian faith is that death is not the end.  As such we wish to honour the life that the departed sister/brother has lived and also comfort those who mourn their loss.

If you would like to discuss having a funeral at Saint John's or a service taken by one of the priests please contact the Vicar or speak to one of the clergy on a Sunday.
