At Saint John’s we are committed to persuading the government that, to end poverty and protect the environment, we need trade justice – not free trade.
As part of our faith in Jesus Christ we believe there is a need to change the rules that govern international trade so that poor countries have the freedom to support their vulnerable farmers and industries.
To do this we need to campaign to persuade the government to support trade justice not free trade. And they need to use their influence to call for change within the international institutions that govern trade policy. We also work with Christian Aid and others to try and influence other governments to take seriously the need for Trade Justice. We welcome others joining us in our fight for Justice.
