At Saint John's we are a committed group of diverse people gathered from all over the world. We recognise that our faith is a response to the God who calls us in Jesus Christ. Jesus commissioned His church to 'make disciples of all nations' (Matthew 28). At Saint John's we are a living symbol of different people being united in love for God and a desire to serve our community.
Our life together is rooted in our worship, the word we use for this is The Liturgy, which simply means the work of the People of God. Our Liturgy is focused on the Mass, also called the Eucharist, Holy Communion or The Lord's Supper. This is based on Scripture and Commandment. Jesus said, 'Do this often, remembering me till I come.'
At the heart of our work is a profound engagement with the God who shares our life in Jesus Christ and changes it through the redemption he offers us. Our lives are built around the Mass as the pattern and inspiration of our ministry and as the place of charismatic encounter with God. Whilst this is not the only way in which we worship, it is the centre of our lives and we believe the principle means of grace that is given to the church. We see ourselves as inhabiting distinctly a universal, holy and apostolic church that is called to be one and this understanding of the life of the church is reflected in the way we seek to be Christ’s body.
All are welcome to our services.
The Mass is offered on Sundays at 9.45am and also during the week. All are very welcome to join us.
